Now would be a good time to make sure your membership is current so that you don't face any problems when you are ready to submit your proposal. For submission of proposals, log in to the members' area of the ISME website.

Please remember that you will need to click on the submissions link inside the private members' area at least once in order for your name to appear inside the submissions system. This applies to everybody that has either renewed or applied for a new membership past 1 September 2013. Your co-authors will not be able to find your name otherwise, so please log onto the ISME members' website and click on the submissions link.

Commission seminar submissions

Remember also that submissions to present at the Commission seminars have to be submitted online through the ISME website by 1 November 2013.

Membership renewals

A number of members have still not renewed memberships which expired in December 2012. A specific e-mail will be sent to those members shortly and we ask that you act on that as soon as you receive it. Now would also be a good time for others to log on to the website to check whether their membership subscription expires at the end of December 2013 so that you are ready to renew on time. With 2013 being the 60th anniversary year for ISME, this biennium is an exciting time to participate in the international music education community. In 2014 an ISME conference will take place for the first time in Latin America, in Porto Alegre in Brazil. This is a signal event for the world of music education and provides opportunity for ISME members from across the globe to learn more about the music and music education of this region. By re-registering as a member of ISME you will have opportunity to participate in this important event.

ISME World Conference Awards

This new initiative to support early career music educators and those in financial need will be launched on the ISME website soon. The ISME World Conference Awards are intended to enable music educators with demonstrated financial need to attend the ISME biennial World Conference through meeting the registration costs and contributing towards the costs of travel and subsistence. Awards are normally up to $3,000. Don't miss your chance to apply for support to attend the Conference or to encourage an application from someone else who you know would benefit from the opportunity to present or be a delegate at the conference.
